announcement

* this is my announcement.

so, i'm sure you are all wondering, what is bijo?
well, my daisies.. Bijo means beautiful woman in japanese. {yes, my motherland's language.}

my daughter and her friend julia has made this wonderful blog about fashion.

you should read their mission statement.

"We (Sasha and Julia) are out to
prove that women can be
fashionable, demure, expressive,
and smart with their money
all at the same time.
After all, that's how we are."

doesn't this convince you to become their reader, already!?

go check out their website here...
come on now! don't be afraid. just click on "here" and you can become a bijo, too!

Thursday

first..

hello daisies,

this is my first official "blog post".
you see, i wanted to actually write something instead of posting our furniture on here.

then i began to think... what should i write about?
obviously something about home decor and furniture, right?

well, recently i've been a little obsessed with chalkboard paint.
i wish we had chalkboard paint in our household when my kids were growing up.
i'm pretty positive that we could have saved a lot of things from getting damaged by crayola and sharpies.

now, that my kids are all grown up, i have no need for this worry.
but i still think the whole painting-your-pantry-door with chalkboard paint is such an adorable idea! not to mention a very handy idea!

ok, now for you daisies who are afraid to paint your pantry door, i have a little less risky idea for you.

behold

Ok, seriously... this little afternoon project is so easy. all you need is a fake silver platter from the $1 store. (i bough mine from the $1 store next to k-mart in orem.) chalkboard spray paint, and a little tape.

and viola!

you made yourself a cute little menu board in less than 10 minutos.
and i think these will make such cute holiday gifts. wrap a cut ribbon around it and write a cute little note on it.. there is nothing better than a handmade gift!

i'd love to hear your feedback!

i'd like to send a little shout out to my daughter sasha. thank you for making this cute blog, honey!
